Rebounder Workout
What is a Rebounding Workout?
Rebounding is a low-impact cardio workout which utilizes a mini-trampoline. At Pole Kisses students can attend a rebounding class, or use the mini trampolines during open gym to compliment their aerial fitness routine. During a class, students jump on their own trampoline to the beat of the music or as instructed by the teacher.
What are some benefits of a Mini Trampoline Workout?
Rebounding has many benefits, including building leg muscles and building aerobic endurance while still being easy on the joints. Rebounding is also great for your lymphatic system. The lymphatic system is the human body’s waste management system. It is responsible for helping us not get sick! The lymphatic system is unlike the circulatory system, in that it cannot pump itself through the body.
The Cancer Exercise Training Institute reports that gentle bouncing for about 15 minutes is the best way to stimulate lymphatic flow. Rebounding is a highly researched fitness activity that has been scientifically proven to improve health and well-being. NASA uses trampolines to train astronauts, and there are even versions of the sport in the Olympics. These forms of exercise are not just a fad, as they are backed by research. Bouncing isn’t just fun, fun, fun, as Disney’s Tigger sings in Winnie the Pooh. It is incredibly beneficial and a great addition to your workout at Pole Kisses!
What do I wear for a rebounder workout? Any limitations?
Any traditional workout gear you prefer is perfect for rebounding. You will get hot and sweaty! If you need to wear a sports bra, we recommend high or medium impact. You may choose to wear tennis shoes or go barefoot. Some people prefer barefoot to strengthen the muscles in the ankles and feet, whereas others feel more stable with shoes. Please wear clean shoes inside the gym.
Weight Limit and Contraindications
The maximum manufacturer recommended weight limit for the rebounders is 275 lbs. Rebounding is not recommended for individuals who have had surgery in the last 6 months, pregnant, or have an injury that could be negatively impacted by rebounding. If you have any of these conditions or think you may be pregnant, please consult with your physician before taking rebounding fitness classes at Pole Kisses, LLC. Individuals under the age of 18 require written parental consent.
Circuit Training Classes – Spin the Bottle
Want to try it all? Spin the Bottle is a circuit training class that utilizes rebounders, as well as other equipment in the gym. Students alternate between 1 minute of cardio exercises on the mini trampolines with 1 minute of strength building exercises. One week may focus on core, while another upper body. Strength exercises are chosen specifically to compliment aerial fitness.
For example, core exercises will help build the muscles needed to invert on the pole, lyra or silks. Rebounding can also help build stamina to perform longer aerial routines. The best part of this class is the time flies by! Students say that just when they feel tired of one exercise, it is time to switch, so they never feel bored.
