Bouncy Bouncy Fun Fun Fun! There are many wonderful things about Bungee Fitness, and fun is not the only one.

Bungee fitness is a unique and exhilarating form of exercise that combines elements of dance, aerobics, and acrobatics. It incorporates a harness and bungee cord system to reduce impact, add resistance, and create fun. Bungee fitness is the first form of exercise that I have ever instructed, and I am so happy I can share it with others! I love seeing students succeed in class, and experience the joy I have found in flying. We love that we can offer Bungee Fitness at Pole Kisses  in beautiful Las Vegas, Nevada. Read on to learn about the multiple benefits of bungee fitness, besides just being fun.

Full-Body Workout

Bungee fitness engages multiple muscle groups simultaneously, providing a comprehensive full-body workout. You’ll work your legs, core, arms, and even your cardiovascular system as you perform dynamic movements and resistance exercises. When we went to our teacher training at SLING Bungee Fitness in Oklahoma, I honestly thought I was going to pass out. In my defense, I was in terrible shape from COVID 19 lockdowns, and the course was several days of training for multiple hours a day.  Bungee 1 class is far more attainable, and we will let you rest if needed.

Cardiovascular Health

Bungee fitness routines often include high-intensity, heart-pumping movements and jumps, which can elevate your heart rate and improve cardiovascular fitness. This can lead to enhanced endurance and stamina.

When I went to Coachella  in 2022, it took me a full week to recover. Music festivals have amazing bands, but they are also a marathon physically. This was a few months before we opened Pole Kisses. When I went to Life is Beautiful  in September later that same year,  I danced through that festival with no problem and recovered within a day. I fully attribute the change in my stamina to bungee fitness!

Low Impact

I have a chronic back issue that leads to lower back pain and sciatica. I have not had a problem with my back while teaching bungee fitness. Despite its high-intensity nature, bungee fitness is gentle on the joints due to the bungee cord’s shock-absorbing properties. It’s an excellent option for individuals looking for a low-impact workout that reduces the risk of joint strain and injury.

We have had a number of individuals join our classes who used to be marathon runners, but can no longer do so due to foot and knee injuries.  They say that they are able to do the bungee because of less pressure on these areas of the body. I haven’t had my sciatica flare up since I started teaching classes a year and half ago!

Improved Strength and Flexibility

Bungee exercises challenge your muscles in unique ways, helping to improve strength, power, and flexibility. The bungee cord’s resistance can enhance muscle tone and definition.  My legs look great from jumping around and my booty has definitely perked up from all those bungee squats.

Enhanced Core Stability

Balancing and controlling movements while suspended from the bungee cord require significant core engagement. This can lead to improved core stability, better posture, and reduced back pain. When we do bungee burpees (which are way better than regular burpees) we have to engage our core to prevent pain. Tourists: Please do not go to the buffet before bungee class.

Coordination and Balance

Bungee fitness encourages coordination and balance as you perform a variety of dynamic movements in mid-air. It challenges your proprioception (awareness of your body in space), which can benefit overall balance and agility.  I love the soreness after bungee class, as you feel muscles you didn’t even know you had.

Not only is bungee fitness fun, it is low impact and high cardio.

Stress Reduction

Engaging in bungee fitness can be a stress-relieving experience. The exhilarating and playful nature of bouncing and flying can boost mood, reduce stress, and increase overall happiness.  Aerobic exercise can reduce stress hormones in the body, such as cortisol and adrenaline, and increase feel good hormones, like endorphins. I have had my attitude change drastically before and after a class. One of my regular students, who is a nurse at a local hospital, says she can tell when she misses class because it impacts her overall mood.

Calorie Burn

We have had students burn up to 600 calories in one bungee class! Due to its combination of cardio and strength training, bungee fitness can be an effective calorie-burning workout. It can aid in weight management and body composition improvement when combined with a balanced diet. I have never gotten even close to 600 calories on a treadmill. I would probably have to run for an hour straight.

The only time I will run is from the undead during a zombie apocalypse.  But that is one reason why I do pole dance fitness as well, so I can just climb a light pole to get away from the zombies. Can you tell I am not a fan of running? I hate treadmills even more.

Boosted Confidence

Mastering bungee moves and experiencing the sensation of flying can boost self-confidence and body positivity. It’s an empowering activity that encourages participants to step out of their comfort zones.  Many students express fear and uncertainty when they try bungee fitness for the first time.  They always learn the moves and leave with big smiles on their faces! I recommend you read my other blog post about Trashing Limiting Beliefs.

Bungee fitness is the funniest way to work out! You can’t help but smile in bungee fitness classes.

Fun and Enjoyment

Perhaps one of the most significant benefits of bungee fitness is the sheer fun and enjoyment it provides. It’s a unique and exciting way to work out, making exercise feel more like play.  I have never had long term success at traditional gyms because they are BORING. I already mentioned I hate treadmills. They are seriously the worst, even with a TV attached. Who needs more screen time anyway? People have said our gym is like an adult playground, and they feel like a kid again.  I have had the worst days, and felt 10x better after bungee class.
